Goldman Sachs to pump in €1b in Iberian Logistics

The Goldman Sachs financial group has announced that it will invest 1 billion euros over the next three years in the Iberian logistics market.

According to media reports, the US investment giant launched Newdock, a platform to invest in and develop as much as €1 billion of logistics assets in Spain and Portugal over the next three years, as part of its development and management of logistics and industrial assets in Portugal and Spain.

For those unaware, Newdock already boasts a portfolio of seven projects across various key logistics zones in Spain, developing a gross leasable area of 500,000 m2, backed by an initial investment of 400 million euros.

This comes after the announcement of the acquisition of a minority stake in the Viseu group's subsidiary Constructel Visabeira that specialises in energy network engineering and telecommunications, by Goldman Sachs Asset Management, for 200 million euros.
