Wales hit by supply chain challenges

A shocking new study by Chartered Institute of Housing’s Tyfu Tai Cymru has revealed the challenges faced by the housing sector in Wales as a result of shocks in the supply chain.

For those unaware, Tyfu Tai Cymru (TTC) is a five-year housing policy project managed by the Chartered Institute of Housing Cymru aiming to provide insightful analysis and fill evidence gaps to support policy progression.

The findings of the report launched today outlines supply chain pressures adversely impacting the delivery of social and affordable housing on their commitments to build new homes and improve, maintain and ensure the safety of existing homes. 

The findings of the survey based on the feedback of 31 entities suggests that almost 90 percent of those interviewed were having significant or moderate issues with supply chains for building new homes, day to day maintenance and retrofitting.
