UK’s online estate agent expands nationwide

Strike UK’s online estate agent that sells homes for free has announced that it has now decided to expand across the country. The online estate agents services were previously confined only to the north of England and the Midlands.

Founded in 2007, the hybrid agency, formerly Housesimple, aims to challenge traditional high street estate agents by offering home owners a free property sales service.

“From day one, we've seen the potential of Strike being unleashed across the North of England," Sam Mitchell, Strike CEO explained. "The power of our free proposition has quickly catapulted us into one of largest agents in the UK — and now we're doubling our geographical coverage by taking free to London and nationwide."

The company claims they sold over £1.74 billion worth of property in 2021, thereby being named the ESTAS Online Estate Agent of the Year for the second year in a row. In a statement, Strike indicated that their expansion reflected that their company’s values continue to resonate with homeowners around the country.

It may be recalled that the company raised £11m, thanks to the company’s latest funding round involving SPWOne, Channel 4 Ventures and the current investors Freston Ventures and Toscafund.

"Since our last funding round, we’ve continued to invest in technology to provide a seamless selling experience. We’re confident we’ll be the obvious choice for anyone looking to sell this year who wants a stress-free experience.”

“We’re excited to support Strike’s nationwide launch following its success in the north as they continue to shake up the sector and revolutionise how people move home," Vinay Solanki, Head of Channel 4 Ventures, said. "We hope that access to airtime across Channel 4’s influential TV and digital channel portfolio will provide a powerful platform for Strike’s new national advertising campaign and enable them to reach more sellers across the UK and significantly scale their business through increased brand awareness.”
